TURKEY HUNTING IN BROOKHAVEN MISS:
Had a few days to go and chase turkeys. It’s been too windy to fish. So I headed to Brookhaven Miss. to a friends property to give it a go. First day had five jakes at twenty yards, six inch beard required in Miss. The wind has been howling and the birds gobble only at first light. Day two I was able to harvest a nice double bearded bird. It was nice to hunt birds again. It’s rare to have time away from fishing this time of year.
The weather should break for the weekend so it’s back to fishing for specks and reds.
